I’ve been a member of Malvern Active for about a year and regularly attend Core, Posture and Flex with Sarah. Each session combines core and posture work with targeted exercises that cover everything from your toes to the base of your skull. Sarah’s knowledge of anatomy and her encouraging style make the classes both effective and enjoyable. She’s always mindful of the class’s mixed abilities and will adapt exercises to suit individuals. My posture and flexibility have definitely improved though my core is still a work in progress!
BUILD STRENGTH, EASE TENSION, IMPROVE POSTURE
Core, Posture & Flexibility (CPF) is a class for the couch potato and those who take part in more intense activities or sports. CPF is for everyone who wants to improve how they move! With aspects taken from Yoga and Pilates, plus remedial exercises and stretches for muscle imbalances and tightness, over time, your posture will get better, you will feel stronger and more mobile, and your performance may improve. This isn’t always an easy session, but I offer alternatives for those who are new to the class and it’s just about starting where you are and doing your best.

CORE, POSTURE & FLEXIBILITY FAQs
Yes, but make sure Sarah knows so she can adapt the exercises for you.
Yes, but make sure you let Sarah know as in the later stages of pregnancy there are certain exercises which aren’t suitable.
You are welcome to bring your own yoga mat or use the ones provided by Malvern Active.
Wear comfortable clothes – these don’t have to be specifically exercise clothes as long as they are loose fitting and allow you to move in all directions! I recommend being barefoot or wearing yoga socks as we do a lot of work on ankles and feet, plus some of the postures and poses will be more comfortable without shoes on. Wear layers – some exercises can make us warm, but some people also find they get a little chilly in the slower moving sections of the class.
